I do not have a dog, but I want to get one!
1
Make sure you do some research on the different breeds and their personalities to find the one that would best fit your lifestyle. Look into reputable breeders and check out the local animal shelters or rescues, too!
If you think you’ve found a dog or puppy, and BEFORE you adopt or buy, give us a call! We can conduct The Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test to help you make that final decision.
I already have a dog but it has never been trained.

Regardless of the age of your pup, beginning with basic obedience is always a great step in the right direction!
Introductory Obedience is an 8-week program to teach you and your pup the most basic of commands and cues. This is a great option for those that just want a well-behaved family member!
I already have a dog and it has had some training.
3
If your pup has had some training previously, make an appointment with us for a Meet & Greet session!
At a meet & greet, we can observe what your dog already knows and make a plan together on how to move forward based on the goals you want to achieve.
I know the basics, but I need help with this ONE thing!

We understand! You’ve had dogs in the past and you’ve trained them yourself and you did an AMAZING job!
. . . BUT you’ve tried everything with this dog and nothing is working!
. . . OR you’ve never had an 8-week old puppy and just need some guidance.
. . . OR you really want to teach your dog to turn the lights on and off for you (yes, seriously!).
We can help with our As Needed Training program!
I am interested in the AKC training path with my dog.

Are you interested in the American Kennel Club (AKC) training path?
We can help you get started on your journey with the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program for socialization and an introduction to being a well-behaved pup.
Then, you and your pup can move on to the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) for manners and more advanced training!
I am in need of a service dog.
6
The D.O.G. Method can assist you in training a service dog! While we do not offer any board-and-train programs, we do guide you and teach you how to train your dog to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Assistance Dogs International (ADI) standards. We will teach you lifelong skills so you'll never have to worry about where your next service dog will come from!
To successfully complete our service dog training program, your pup must pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, our Public Access Test, and our Task Training performance test.
I would like to train my dog as a therapy dog.
